In short: we collect only what it takes to sell you the app and keep your vehicle licence working. Payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card details. The app itself has no ads, no accounts and no analytics; your driving data stays on your device, and the one thing it can send while driving — your position, when the optional speed-limit sign looks up the road's limit — is answered and never stored.

1. Information We Collect on This Website

When you buy RGB OBD or contact us, we collect:

  • The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) you enter at checkout — the licence is issued to it
  • The email address Stripe passes back after payment, so we can send your receipt and download link
  • Order details (the amount paid and when)
  • Messages you send us through the contact form
  • Basic technical information such as IP address and browser type

2. Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout page and never touch our servers. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

3. What the App Sends (and What It Doesn't)

When registering, deregistering or transferring a vehicle licence, the app sends us:

  • The VIN it read from your car (to check it against your licence)
  • A device identifier created on first registration — it protects your licence, so only your own device can transfer it

While the speed-limit sign is enabled (it is on by default and can be switched off in the app's settings), the app also sends the car's GPS position as you drive into a new area. The position is used once, to answer with the speed limits of the surrounding few kilometres of road, and is never stored or logged — we keep the road data (from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors), not where anyone has been. With the sign switched off, no position is ever sent.

That is the complete list. Your gauges, trips, fuel figures, timing runs, diagnostic scans and settings stay on your device — the app has no ads, no user accounts, no analytics and no tracking, and it never uploads your driving data.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To issue and validate your vehicle licence when the app registers or transfers
  • To send your receipt and keep your download link working
  • To respond to your enquiries
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

5. Cookies

This website uses essential cookies only (session and security cookies that keep the checkout working). No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run this store — Stripe for payments and our hosting provider — or when required by law.

7. Data Retention & Your Rights

We keep purchase and licence records for as long as your licence is active and as the law requires — the VIN register is what keeps your app registered, so it lives as long as your licence does. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us.
